Title: Peaking Through

Description: I was photographing something else when I suddenly felt this warm glow on my back of the sun peaking through the dense foliage. I looked around and was greeted by this scene. This is temperate rainforest in the Northeast of Tasmania. Characterized by large fernglades full of ancient treeferns, the largest flowering trees in the world and home to many iconic Australian animals, such as the Tasmanian Devil.
Unfortunately, this spot is located in logging coupe CC161B in NE Tasmania. It’s hard to imagine that within a couple of months, this is likely to be reduced to a barren, desolate, clear felt patch of dirt.
